Faithful God

"Fear not, for I have redeemd you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters. I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you will not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:2

What a wonderful promise!!! I hold on to this!

I am reading some of my books for school now - they are quite encouraging and full of amazing stories about believers in different countries who have had amazing encounters with God and are seeking Him at all costs. Right now I'm reading "Like a Mighty Wind" by Mel Tari. He is from Indonesia and he talks about his presbyterian church on the island of Timor that experienced revival starting in the 70's. What is really amazing to me about it is that Mel and his congregation experienced the revival not because some North Americans "brought" it to them, but simply because they were individually praying prayers to know God more. All of the sudden one evening their service had a Pentecost type of happening in which they hear a rushing wind sound and everyone started speaking in different languages. People from the town saw that there was a fire on their church building, and brought buckets of water to put it out (they had no fire station on his island) but realized when they got there that there was no fire; The building looked like it was on fire, but it was only God's presence tangibly sitting on the building!! WOW! This book has been amazing for me to read, and I quite highly recommend it!

I am getting more and more excited to go to Mozambique!! My hunger for serving and seeing the "poor in Spirit" who are so blessed with a close relationship with Godis getting overwhelming!! I can't wait to have my whole life be centered around learning more about God and immediately giving it out and serving those around me!!!! I'm seeing small tastes of that even now, as most of my time during the week involves going to church and having prayer times! And I am seeing small ministry oppurtinities all over. I have started going to an after school program and can't wait to build relationships with kids there.

Thank you for your prayers - I am trusting trusting God for finances, and I am so certain that He is going to take care of me just in time! My deadline for buying my ticket is this sunday - so I will let you all know what He does on Monday!

Pray also that He continues to direct my steps.

Thank you!! Love!!!

I will hold on to you!!!

Urgent news!

- Because of the World cup in Johannesburg this summer, flights are filling up quickly. I need to buy my plane ticket as soon as possible. I'm standing in faith, but don't have the money for the ticket yet. Please pray for me! :) Thank you - I can't wait to share the story of how this miracle happens!! God is so so faithful to me always, and I have been realizing that I can't change God's will for me to get to the school. If He wants me to get there, then He will get me there. I'm doing all I can so, the rest is easy - waiting for Him to move. This is a really good reminder for me!

Pray for my faith. I need God, and that's a good thing. I want to always be in this place. We will see what He does, as I wait.

Thank you all!

Tetra

(Again, please trust me when I say that I don't want to manipulate. I am sharing this not as a way to subtly beg for help - but to honestly share my heart and situation.) :)

New Life

This is my first post on my new blog! I have created this blog so that those who wish to can keep up to date on my quickly approaching 3 month adventure in Mozambique. This is a preliminary post, but more will come soon.

Quick update:

- I'm working through all the paperwork etc and planning a fundraiser (while working alot!)

- I have decided that I will be going on the outreach to the bush of Mozambique. This is in Dondo Mozambique, for those that want to look it up. We will be sitting in a truck bed for a few hours going out into remote parts of Mozambique where the people have rarely seen caucasian people (it seems that they are really pleased to see white people rather than - as I was originally expecting - feeling threatened by them). We wil give food and clothing and share healings and worship with them. I am excited!!!!

-Eventually I will need to get about SEVEN different shots from my physician :(

-I have a reading list of ten books that I need to buy and read before I leave, and I am starting on them

Prayer points:

I need help from the Lord with my organizational skills! I need Him to "direct my path" (Proverbs 16:9) in these small areas of preparation and busy work.

That ought to do it for now. :)

I have experimented with making a Paypal button and don't have a lot of experience with HTML or blogging even, so I don't know exactly where to put it. Soon I will be putting up my complete info/support letter that explains my heart better when it comes to funding (basically I am not very worried about it because God has made big promises about funding, and I do not want to manipulate anyone. Rather, I would love for each person involved to listen to the Lord in regard to whether they should give. And if you are not a christian, do you whatever you want! I support your decisions :) )

Love you all
